Meet Dr. Joy Chen

As a Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Joy Chen is dedicated to improving her patients' quality of life through compassionate, personalized surgical care. Growing up in Vancouver, Dr. Chen developed an early interest in healthcare and was drawn to oral and maxillofacial surgery because of its distinctive combination of medicine, dentistry, and advanced surgical care. She was inspired by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by relieving pain, restoring function, and improving confidence.

Dr. Chen earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of British Columbia in 2014. She then pursued her medical education at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, earning her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2017.

In 2020, she completed her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University Medical Center, where she received extensive training in advanced surgical procedures, patient management, and comprehensive oral healthcare
