Meet Dr. Navpreet Kaur Khatra

As a board-certified prosthodontist, Dr. Navpreet Kaur Khatra is passionate about restoring smiles and improving the quality of life for her patients. With more than 15 years of experience in dentistry, she is known for her patient-centered approach, attention to detail, and commitment to finding the best treatment solutions for each individual. Dr. Khatra specializes in rebuilding and revitalizing smiles, helping patients regain both function and confidence through advanced restorative and prosthodontic care.

Dr. Khatra's interest in dentistry began during her teenage years. Regular visits to her family dentist inspired her fascination with the unique combination of science, artistry, and patient care that dentistry requires. Motivated by this passion, she pursued the necessary studies and successfully gained admission to dental school.

Her commitment to prosthodontics became deeply personal while attending dental school in India. During that time, her grandmother had been edentulous for more than a decade, which significantly affected her confidence and quality of life. Dr. Khatra had the opportunity to fabricate upper and lower complete dentures for her grandmother, transforming not only her smile but also her overall well-being. Witnessing this life-changing impact firsthand inspired Dr. Khatra to dedicate her career to helping patients restore their smiles and confidence through prosthodontic treatment.

Dr. Khatra earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in India before continuing her education in the United States. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University and later completed her Prosthodontics Certificate along with a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Maryland, graduating in 2018.

She is a proud member of the American Dental Association and the Maryland Dental Association. Dr. Khatra is also certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics and has received several professional honors, including the Dr. Sidney I. Silverman Award, recognizing excellence in patient care and commitment to the humanitarian principles of healthcare.

Dr. Khatra values the principles of hard work, integrity, and consistency that were instilled by her parents, both of whom worked in education. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters and cherishes opportunities to be with family and friends.

When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Khatra enjoys cooking, organizing, dancing with her daughters, taking long walks with her husband, and creating meaningful memories with loved ones.
